The New York Jets Select Shaquelle Evans with the 115th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft

The festivities are well underway. The Jets are currently involved in the final day of the three day NFL draft event. The Jets have one of their league leading nine choices earlier, and now that we are up to #115, here comes the next one.

So who did the Jets choose?

SHAQUELLE EVANS, WR, UCLA

If you are not familiar with this young man, here is  a look at the career stats of Evans:

Receiving & Rushing

Receiving Rushing Scrimmage
Year School Conf Class Pos G Rec Yds Avg TD Att Yds Avg TD Plays Yds Avg TD
2009 Notre Dame Ind SR WR 6 7 61 8.7 0 7 61 8.7 0

*2012 UCLA Pac-12 SR WR 14 60 877 14.6 3 2 6 3.0 0 62 883 14.2 3
2013 UCLA Pac-12 SR WR 13 47 709 15.1 9 47 709 15.1 9

UCLA 126 1895 15.0 14 2 6 3.0 0 128 1901 14.9 14

This is probably the right spot for Evans to be selected. Look at his stats, he was productive in schoo. Nine touchdowns are nothing to sneeze at. But his receiving yardage wasn’t at a level where a defense needed to go game planning crazy to accomodate for.

Can this guy step up and “Play Like a Jet?”
