Three of the Jets’ final four choices of the draft today were compensatory picks. Only the choice on the 7th round was a standard pick, so I though I would just bring the final group to you:
With the 209th overall, the selection was Quincy Enunwa, WR, Nebraska.
With the 210th pick overall, the selection was IK Enemkpali, DE, Louisiana Tech
With the 213th pick overall, the biggest name came off the Jets board in the form of Tajh Boyd.
Finally, with the 233rd pick overall, the Jets selected Trevor Reilly, OLB, Utah.
So there you have it, the 2014 NFL draft is in the books, the first where John Idzik had the freedom to do as he pleased financially. This is the season that the transition went from Tannenbaum’s team to John Idzik’s team. How did it go in the draft? That remains to be seen.
They certainly have worked hard, the Jets, that’s for sure. They are certainly making good on the idea of using the draft as a lifeline. We will talk more as the days go by.
