New York Jets' 3rd Round Pick: Reaction From Fans On Twitter

The Jets selected Dexter McDougle, CB, Maryland in the 3rd round tonight which completed Day 2 of the Draft. So far so good for the Jets as they have addressed needs in all 3 rounds. McDougle was a bit of a surprise as he wasn’t rated as highly as some corners on the board. He ran a 4.42 forty yard dash but is a little short at 5’10” and has some durability concerns. He is coming off of shoulder surgery in September. Before he was injured he had 3 interceptions in the young season. Here is the reaction from the Twitterverse:

Reaction to the pick generally is that the player has the chance to be a good NFL player but this pick was a reach and McDougle could have been picked on Day 3. Whether or not that is true is a moot point, Rex found this player and I give him more latitude with a pick because he knows a lot more about defense and who has talent than I do. John Idzik has had a feel for when players were going to be selected in the draft and has been ahead of the positional runs so perhaps another team was in on McDougle as well.
