The New York Jets Select Calvin Pryor with the 18th Pick of the 2014 NFL Draft

The time has come Jets’ fans. The wait is over. Weeks of analyzing, planning and overanalyzing and overplanning have come to fruition in war rooms all over the land starting tonight. With Round one of the 2014 NFL draft over halfway in the book, the Jets have their opening pick of the season.

Who is the pick? Here he is…

Here are his stats from Louisville:

Pryor definitely has the ability to attack the ball carrier, even if he doesn’t make a lot of plays on the ball. He is a hammer, as one person sitting near me at the draft put it. The Jets needed to put some fear in that back line again, and Pryor may have done a lot to instill just that needed fear.

Rex wins again it would seem. The defense takes another big step forward. The Jets are building an aggressive Rex Ryan attacking defense! Can’t wait to see what they do in Day 2!!!

  • Frank Antonelli

This pick is about winning football games and not winning the media game. In Pryor’s interview he compared himself to Seahawks Cam Chancellor. When the pick was announced I said that it felt like a Seahawk type move.
