Randy Lange is reporting via NYJets.com that the New York Jets have decided to have training camp back in Cortland, NY this year. Despite having a state of the art facility in Florham Park, NJ, the Jets have opted to move the entire show up to Cortland for training camp. Rex Ryan has opted to send the team up to Cortland for 4 years out of his 5 year tenure here with the organization. As we all can remember, Rex Ryan and the New York Jets have had one of their worst seasons ever in the Rex Ryan era when it was decided to not have the team travel up to SUNY Cortland a few years back. I am all on board for this as you can definitely see the team chemistry develop when they have the SUNY Cortland training camp experience compared to the one year when they had camp at 1 Jets Dr, the Florham Park, NJ facility. I can compare this to attending summer camp as a child. Summer camp was always fun, and you, for the most part, made a lot friends. Still, you know that the bonds and connections you made with friends at sleep away camp are much stronger and deeper. I know that is a bad example, but I hope you get the mental picture I am trying to paint for you. These guys are with each other 24/7 for the duration of training camp. In general, I think this is great for the team dynamic and should set the foundation for a NY Jets team that will surely surprise many and exceed expectations.
