Desean Jackson Has Been Released by the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have just release Desean Jackson. You have to wonder what character issues had to be taken into consideration when the Philadelphia Eagles organization moved forward with the much expected cutting of Desean Jackson. He is only 27 years old and is coming off his best statistical year as a professional. There has to be an explanation for that correct?

Here is my theory, propaganda or not, it is very convenient that released an article this morning about the Philadelphia Eagles organization not being pleased with some of Desean’s off the field activities, mainly his links to two gang members who are under investigation for murder. I have no choice but to view this as a sort of propaganda campaign on the part of the Eagles organization. One can surmise that they had to have had known about this prior to finally giving Desean the pink slip. It is my personal opinion that after not being able to come to an agreement with Jackson, coupled with not being able to find a suitable trade partner, made for the perfect storm. The next question is, Do you think the New York Jets will make an honest attempt at a run for Desean?

It is my opinion that the New York Jets will make a honest run for Desean Jackson. If there is one thing that we have learned about John Idzik, it is that he will “draw a line in the sand” and not cross it for any player.  For some of us that have trouble reading in between the lines, I believe that Idzik will only make a limited attempt at acquiring Jackson’s services. If there is one thing we learned about John Idzik this year, it is that he will assign a player a monetary value, and barring some unforeseen catastrophe, he will not go over the price Idzik sets in his head. For the short term this isn’t what New York Jets fans want to hear. For the long term though, this is exactly what needs to be done to maintain sustained success.
