Rex Ryan on the Departure of Mark Sanchez

The fan base is in a crazed happiness, for the most part. The player that everyone loves to hate, Mark Sanchez, has officially been released. The fan base that for the most part is forgetful of his earlier time with the team, no longer has Mark to kick around anymore.

Here is what coach Rex Ryan had to say about his former quarterback, courtesy of the team:

“I’d like to thank Mark for everything he’s done for this team and me personally,” Head Coach Rex Ryan said. “We were rookies together and had some early success, becoming the first rookie head coach/quarterback to go to back-to-back championship games. We experienced a lot together and I really appreciate Mark, he’s a great player, a great teammate and I wish him nothing but the best.”

Personally, I don’t believe that the team doesn’t appreciate him quite as much as Rex does. Otherwise, they would have done him the courtesy of releasing him BEFORE the majority of the jobs went to other quarterbacks. But then again, this is how it has been for Mark now for years, so there really is no surprise.

We will have more in the morning on Mark Sanchez’s time with the Jets.

Why show your hand before you have to? Maybe the jets were trying for a late pick with OAK? You have to assume not having a QB affects signing certain FA QBs. These decisions have to do with business.
