Report: Jets Showing Interest in DeSean Jackson

Well, it may not be only Michael Vick that the Jets are interested in.

Reported by Kimberley Martin in Newsday, the Jets are one of the teams that have inquired about a trade for Eagles’ WR DeSean Jackson.

Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network reported the information first, stating that Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson are “close”.  They both have a history with Marty Mornhinweg which may make a difference.

According to John Idzik, in his conference call with the media this afternoon, having insider knowledge is huge, and that is exactly what both Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson have with Mornhinweg.

We know that the Jets are interested in adding another playmaker to go along with the recently acquired Eric Decker.  The Eagles aren’t sold on the idea of trading Jackson necessarily, but have begun to entertain the idea.

I stand by my previous opinions of Michael Vick, don’t want him here.  However, bringing in a dynamic element like DeSean Jackson would be an asset to any quarterback, especially a young Geno Smith.

DeSean Jackson is like a better Kerley. Kind of. More like a Santonio Holmes that has performed well, and probably will for a while at least. When he has someone throwing him the ball. All depends on what the deal is. I’m more concerned about the CB position, WRs can be found in the draft. The guy isn’t Megatron.
