BREAKING: James Jones to the Raiders on a Three Year Contract

There goes a guy that the Jets were interested in, at least according to reports, but not to the team he was talking about to the press.

From Adam Schefter, WR James Jones has signed a three-year deal to join the Oakland Raiders. Reports indicated that the Jets were interested in pairing Jones up with Eric Decker. Last week, Jones talked with ESPN’s Josina Anderson, and expressed interest in joining Cam Newton and playing for the Carolina Panthers.

That means the Jets have lost out on Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and James Jones, both at positions that the Jets have a direct need to fill. What’s next? The fan base is starting to get impatient with John Idzik’s slow and deliberate pace.

Still, I stand by the concept of giving John Idzik time. May 8th is a long way out, still a good seven weeks or so. Free agency is just one week into the process, we cannot look at the roster and make evaluations yet.
