It may be the middle of the free agent signing period, but that doesn’t mean that the Jets have taken their eyes off the NFL draft, which will be here before we know it. Yesterday, it would appear that the Jets had one guy in particular in mind:
Jets OC Marty Mornhinweg attended WR Brandin Cooks pro day yesterday (Oregon State). #Jets have been “all over him,” per source.

The Jets were impressed with Cooks at the NFL combine. Although he stands in at only 5’10″, he blew the minds of scouts with his 4.33 seconds in the 40 yard dash. He gave us an explosive 120 inch broad jump, ran the 20 yard shuttle in 3.81 seconds, and the 60 yard shuttle in 10.72. Both of the aforementioned shuttle times led the position at the combine.
As we have talked before about Cooks, he does a lot of things well. He makes up for being small with excellent hands, and the ability to catch the football at is highest point. The fan base is coming over to this guy, and there will be a lot of happiness, should the Jets decide to go this way come May 8th, or 9th.
