Josh McCown gone, Jets trying to seal deal with Decker, Revis cut by Bucs

Before he ever got to visit with the Jets free agent QB Josh McCown signed a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was well known that the Jets were looking for a veteran presence at the quarterback position to push Geno and maybe even competing for the starting spot. McCown was high on the Jets list of targets, and many fans were pushing for the Jets to sign him and avoid Michael Vick. However now it looks ever more likely that the Jets will look towards Vick’s services even though he has stated that he wants to be a starter whichis likely the last road block between a deal.

In other free agent news Eric Decker visited with the Jets today, but has not signed a contract yet. According to Adam Schefter, the Jets are negotiating with Decker and are progressing. Hopefully the Jets can make him a good enough offer without breaking the bank and bring him in.

Looking back at former Jets, CB Darelle Revis has been released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (as expected), demoting our third round pick to a fourth. With the Jets in the market for a corner will they make a bid for Revis, we shall have to wait and see.

If they sign Vick, I might have to root for the other team in NY! Please don’t make me do it!!! Please Mr, Idzik, I’ve been a fan since they were the Titans, I’ve endured a lot of moves, but this one would be unbearable!!
