Could a reunion between the star cornerback and the Green and White be happening soon. As per multiple source former Jets cornerback Darelle Revis will be let go by 4:00pm tomorrow if they can not find a trade partner. Other reports have come out that Revis would like to return to the Jets and wants to play for Rex Ryan. Judging by Idziks approach thus far as general manager of the Jets, he will not like the idea of paying such a high price for a player, and if Revis were to come back it would have to be under Idzik’s terms.

Source says Revis never wanted to leave the Jets and would love to be back with Rex. Biggest question: Would Woody Johnson take him? #nyj

And JetsTalk Line mentioning Revis’s impending trade or cut

This is very unlikely seeing as Revis has clearly been after top money for a while now, and many would argue that he deserves it. However, if he hits free-agency his value might start to drop if teams start to haggle him down, and if brought down to a certain level, lets say the 11 million per year mark, maybe his desire to play for Rex and get back in to the limelight he thrived under in New York would compensate for another 1.5 to 2 million. This of course is very unrealistic, as I do not see Revis playing anywhere next season for under 14 million, but if he could be brought back to the Jets for 9.5 to 10 million a year it might be worth it for a year or two for both sides.
The benefit to the Jets would be immense considering they would still have a 4th round pick in this years draft for the Revis trade, as well as the AP defensive rookie of the year Sheldon Richardson, and best of all Revis. Unfortunately the bad blood left by both sides from the trade period will make this most unlikely, but if Idzik pulls it off somehow for a decent rate, I would consider it one of the best trade values in recent NFL history.
