As Tuesday quickly approaches, the rumors continue to fly. Here is another one to come across the desk of the Jet Press tonight.
According to Manish Mehta of the Daily News, among others, the Jets have expressed interest in Jaguars’s RB Maurice Jones-Drew, or MJD.
If this is true, are the Jets just exploring all options, or is there serious interest here? It’s hard to say, as John Idzik keeps things close to the vest.
He’s going to be 29 years old, and the Jags reportedly are looking to bring him back with a two-year deal. If the Jets, or another team, are willing to spring for a third year, they will have the inside track.
MJD has been terrific over the last eight years, with overall rushing yards over 8,000, and over 2,800 yards receiving. He had an off year in 2013, still recovering from his 2012 injury. If he is healthy, he still is in the prime of his career, and should have some football left in him.
The feeding frenzy is almost here…..
