Matt Smith Mock Draft: The New York Jets Select……..

Time for another mock draft from around the league.

This time, we hear from Matt Smith of NFL.com. He is seen on the website, and is a frequent contributor on the NFL Network as well, analyzing fantasy football. Well, he recently put out his second mock draft of the season, and his choice for the Jets is a familiar one…

ERIC EBRON, TE, UNC

The Jets need a receiver, but there is some talent in the free-agent pool this year, not to mention depth in this draft. Geno Smith just needs pass catchers, and Ebron is the second-most talented one of those in the draft behind Sammy Watkins. Ebron offers good value and fills a major need.

The Jets certainly wouldn’t go wrong with this choice. Ebron is some playmaker! Watching him go up the seam for a Geno Smith pass could be an exciting play to watch for years to come.

The major question at this point in the process is whether or not Ebron will still be around for the Jets at number 18. Eric excelled this past week at the combine, and upped his stock to the point where he might very well go before the Jets have a chance to pick.

If he does make it to eighteen, I don’t see him making it further.
