So it would seem that CBS “Can’t wait!” to get back to the pregame show next season.

After firing Shannon Sharpe and Dan Marino, replacing one with Tony Gonzalez, the network has gone with an old friend to fill the other spot. Per a report from the Daily News, former Jets’ linebacker Bart Scott will be joining the NFL Today, the network pregame show.

Moving forward, the cast will be returning members James Brown, Boomer Esiason, and Bill Cowher, to go along with newcomers Tony Gonzalez and Bart Scott.

He was the first free agent to come over with Rex Ryan, when the period opened in 2009.  As Rex’s on-field general on defense, Bart always had something to say, from his famous “Can’t wait!” speech to his encounters at the end of his tenure as the team went south.

Now, Bart can put that mouth to good use, on a national stage every single week.  One thing is for sure, the CBS pregame will be a lot more worth tuning into than before.
