As we know, the Jets need offensive weapons. The Jets have been associated with several names, including Emmanuel Sanders and Jeremy Maclin. There is a name that has also been associated with the Jets this off-season, partially due to proximity, that we are going to take a look at tonight.
That player is WR Hakeem Nicks from the New York Giants.
Hear are his career stats so far:
Receiving & Rushing
At the peak of his career with the Giants to date, 2010-2011, Hakeem averaged 77.5 receptions, 1,122 yards and nine touchdowns per season.
At one point, he was a guy that was touted as someone who could become the best receiver in the NFL, because of the way he runs his routes. Hakeem was becoming as deadly of a weapon as anyone else.
The one concern is injuries. Hakeem has not played a full 16 games in his career to date. A season has not gone by without Nicks appearing on the injury report several times. He has missed time almost every year, causing some to label him as “injury-prone”.
Take a look at some highlights to refresh your memory on this Sunday, football missing night:
The guy can play, there is no doubt at all about that. If he is healthy, he would be an asset to the Jets passing attack.
John Idzik could do a lot worse than signing a healthy Hakeem Nicks.
