With the off-season moving ahead, and roster decisions soon to be made, let’s move ahead with our “Stay or Go” series. Yesterday, we started it by talking about Calvin Pace.  Today, we talk about the “Folk Hero”, Nick Folk.

For anyone who didn’t check the Pace article out yesterday, here is how this works: I am going to list reasons that the player should stay, and then list reasons why the player should go.

Then, we end the article with a poll, where you guys tell us whether the player should “Stay or Go”.  Let’s get started.

REASONS TO STAY: How great was Nick Folk this season? He was “money”, that’s what he was. He was there when it counted, each and every time. Four game winning field goals earned him the nickname “Folk Hero”. Nick was perfect for most of the season, and it ended with him posting his highest field goal percentage of his career at 91.7%. He posted 126 points as well, near his career high. All good reasons to keep Nick around.

REASONS TO GO: Nick Folk reportedly is interested in a large raise and an extension. Every year with the Jets, Nick has had to compete for his job, with the likes of Billy Cundiff and Josh Brown. The argument could be made that he should get a year where he doesn’t have to compete. But, do you commit a lot of money to a kicker. Off of the year he had, the fact that he didn’t make the Pro Bowl shows how deep the position is. There are kickers everywhere. Do they let Nick Folk go for a cheap replacement? Might make sense.
