We have spent a lot of time using, and referencing the grades from our friends at Pro Football Focus.  Whether we agree with them or not, they have taken elements of a player’s game, and made the immeasurable, measurable.  They are the best we have as far as seeing how our players have graded out.

Looking back at an 8-8 season, many players went in and out, especially on offense, as John Idzik tinkered as best as he could, to try to create a dynamic offense, led by Geno Smith.

So, instead of looking at individual game grades, let’s look at how the players graded for the entire season, and see who was the offensive and defensive player of the year, according to Pro Football Focus.

Kerley is an exceptional athlete, one of those guys you love to root for. He’s not very durable, but the kid plays all out every snap! The fact that Winslow is #2 shows how bad the Jets were in the receiving game. He had a few moments, but the knees are gone and between the injury and the suspension he only made a ripple, not the splash he was expected to bring. If the Jets have the chance to draft Ebron or Amaro, Winslow will be soon forgotten!

I agree if one of those big tight ends is on the scene, there will be no more Kellen

Snacks was a monster, one of the “diamonds in the rough” that actually glowed this season. Richardson had an awesome year, shutting up the critics with one of the best rookie seasons for a Jet in many many years!

Both of those guys were just great.
