NFL Picks: 2013 Wild Card Playoffs, Day One

Welcome to the playoffs everyone. It’s time for Wild Card weekend, often the most exciting weekend of the playoffs. Why? Because the teams are the most evenly matched at this point. Some of the best games happen during Wild Card weekend.

So today, we are going to look at the Saturday games, tomorrow, the Sunday games. There are two games each day, and we are going to choose the winners only, no spreads. So who’s going to win? Let’s talk about who is going to continue the “Road to MetLife Stadium”, MetLife Stadium being the Super Bowl host. So, who’s it going to be? The tournament is on in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE! Here we go…..

GAME ONE: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

A good one in Indianapolis to start the festivities. The Chiefs and the Colts come in with dueling 11-5 records. The Colts come in winning their last three, while the Chiefs have lost their last two. The Colts also had the same record at home (6-2), as the Chiefs on the road.

So, where do we go? To me, the X-factor is Jamaal Charles. Over his last five games, Charles has posted rushing totals of at least 90 yards over four of those games. When he has been in the game, he has been unstoppable of late. He’s healthy, and he is in a groove right now. I just don’t see the Colts having an answer for him. That’s why I am taking the ……..CHIEFS.

GAME TWO: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

This one is going to be interesting. Drew Brees and company travel to Philly to face Chip Kelly’s high-powered Eagles offense. Has anyone been on a better role than Nick Foles lately? I can’t think of anyone. The dangerous team with the hot quarterback right now has to be the Philadelphia Eagles.

And they are scoring well of late. The last time the Eagles played at home, they dropped 54 points on the Chicago Bears. Not that they are going to do that well tomorrow, but they will play well. And the Saints? They are a different team on the road than at home. It’s not even close. The Saints are 8-0 at home, and 3-5 on the road. That’s why I am taking the……..EAGLES.

Enjoy the games tomorrow.
