Maybe we actually are heading towards the quarterbacks wearing red non-contact jerseys during games.

Remember the Sheldon Richardson personal foul from during the game last week? The one where it looked like he might have taken half of a step before hitting Jason Campbell? Well, Sheldon received his letter from the league, docking him $15,000 for that hit. But that isn’t the sad part. Take a look at a tweet from Sheldon Richardson himself, about what the letter said:

He’s supposed to “cradle him with his arms”??? Seriously? Someone wrote that in a letter without laughing?

That play shouldn’t have even been a penalty, much less a fine. The hit wasn’t late, a person cannot stop their momentum and he didn’t even take a full step prior to hitting Campbell. He didn’t hit him high. What was Sheldon supposed to do?

If the NFL wants the quarterbacks not to be touched, put them in practice jerseys. Otherwise, this is football. QBs are players that will get hit. Cut out the stupid, ridiculous calls.
