Yesterday, the Jets announced their team awards. Demario Davis, Tommy Bohanon, and Nick Folk were among the winners yesterday, announced by head coach Rex Ryan. The big one is the Curtis Martin Team MVP award. That one went to Muhammad Wilkerson. We all know how good he has been in 2013, and the award is special because it is chosen by the players. Mo talked yesterday about what the award means to him:

It’s great. That’s an accomplishment that I feel that I think I worked hard for, but I want to celebrate this award with my teammates. I wouldn’t have it if it wasn’t for them.

Was winning the award a goal for Mo?

No, I didn’t consider that. I just work my tail off every day, come into work and try to get better.

If Wilkerson continues to “work his tail off”, I think that more awards than just team MVP will be in his future.
