Chris Ivory: “I Won’t Be Denied”

Chris Ivory is a guy that the entire Jets’ fan base wanted for a long time now, with good reason. Anyone who watched him run for the New Orleans Saints couldn’t help but love his running style. Despite being often injured, his aggressive running style was beloved by Jets’ fans.

He was injured early in his time here with the Jets, and Bilal Powell took over as the lead running back. Well, Ivory is finally healthy now, and running quite well. I always say it, but it is worth repeating: He runs like he is mad at the grass.

It’s particularly enjoyable to watch Ivory run through tacklers’ arms. He was asked, this week, if he visualizes doing that pre-snap:

No, it all depends on the down and situation. If I need a yard, yeah, that’s the mindset. But if not, if I have a little space to work with, I’ll try to work with it. Other than that, my mentality is, ‘I just won’t be denied.’ So, I’m going to come at you and just try to make a statement.

The statement he is making is that he is the guy for this New York Jets’ team. He can take the running game on his back, and it is great to watch.
