With the game against the Ravens firmly in the rearview mirror, I wanted to take one more look back, with some positives to take from the game, courtesy of our friends at Pro Football Focus.
As you all know by now, what they do is grade each player by their individual performance and give it a grade. With a lot of a football player’s performance not appearing in a box score, this gives us more of a tangible way to measure a player’s performance.
Many of them were not good on Sunday. Negative grades were not hard to find, especially on the offensive side of the football. That side looked pretty “offensive” if you ask me.
But, there were positives. Positives that have continued to be strong, all season long. Take a look at the grades for our friends up front on the defensive line, starters and backups:
Sheldon Richardson: 2.5
Damon Harrison: 2.8
Muhammad Wilkerson: 2.0
Leger Douzable: 2.1
Kenrick Ellis: 1.7
These guys absolutely kept the Ravens ground game non-existent. No matter how badly the offense is doing, these guys are going to be a force in every game the Jets play. In the past, fantasy owners should not play the top WR going against the Jets.
Going forward, fantasy owners probably should bench running backs going against the Jets.
