New York Jets Week Twelve: Earning Their Wings

Nov 24, 2013; Baltimore, MD, USA; New York Jets tackle Muhammad Wilkerson (96) sacks Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (5) in the first half.

What a brutal afternoon we had yesterday, huh? It seems like the offense is just getting worse and worse, right before our very eyes. I guess it might be easier to take if we weren’t in a Wild Card hunt, but the fact is we are. So, the poor play stings just that much more. Growing pains really hurt when it means so much to your team.

However, there were, believe it or not, a couple of players worth singling out to have “earned their wings”. Let’s see who:

MUHAMMAD WILKERSON: Big Mo had another big game this week, and this is something that we are becoming accustomed to. The fact that he still gives 100% effort, no matter how badly the game is going, shows the world how good of a player that this young man really is becoming. He posted two sacks yesterday to go along with 5.5 tackles. We have to love Beast Mo, and be happy he wears the Green and White.

SHELDON RICHARDSON: Here is one of John Idzik’s best moves as the general manager of New York Jets. Sheldon was dominant against the run, and got in the pass rush action as well with 0.5 sack. He finished with 7.5 tackles on the game, six of the solo.

That’s it, not too many wings to give out today.
