We know that the majority of the Jets’ beat has been trying to cause problems for the team for a long time now. But now we have evidence of it, thanks to Deadspin.
Early this morning, Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post wrote a story, talking about how bad the team’s trip to Dave and Buster’s looks, after the beating they took at the hands of the Buffalo Bills the next day.
He talked about how it was motivation for the Buffalo Bills, how they were offended by it. He referenced this quote from Mario Williams:
“Me personally, I feel it was disrespectful. I take my nephew to Dave & Busters,” Bills defensive end Mario Williams told The Post.
The trouble is, if you take a listen to the audio that Deadspin was provided, you hear that Mario didn’t really say that. In fact, he wasn’t even aware of the trip until it was brought to his attention there in the locker room. He actually thought it was weird because he takes his nephews there. He only called the Jets disrespectful in general, after Cannizzaro PUSHED HIM THERE!
It’s ironic that Cannizzaro opens his article by talking about how the Jets “write the narrative for you”. In this case, Cannizzaro made up the narrative for everyone.
The media needs to stop their team splitting agenda. They make it obvious, hiding under the guise of “covering the team”. That’s not covering the team, it’s making trouble. We don’t need that at all.
