We are halfway through an already interesting season for the New York Jets. OK, with nine games played, we are a little bit more than halfway through. The Jets are 5-4, and though it has been an inconsistent first half, there have been some great moments. There certainly have been moments worth remembering.
So, over the next five days, we are going to take a look back. Specifically, at five great moments from the first half of the 2013 season for our New York Jets. So, in no particular order, here is #5:
Week 3:Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
It’s the fourth quarter of week number three. The previous Bills’ drive ended with a 33 yard touchdown pass from E.J. Manuel to Scott Chandler, followed by a two-point conversion to Stevie Johnson to tie the game at 20.
The Jets have the ball first and fifteen from their own 31.
Geno Smith is lined up in the shotgun. Santonio Holmes is lined up wide to the right, with one on one coverage. In case you don’t remember, that is the matchup to watch.
Because that is where Geno is going with the football. The coverage isn’t too bad, so the throw needs to be on the money to make the connection.
Guess what? The throw is perfect, Santonio Holmes makes the grab in stride. He throws the defender to the side like yesterday’s Gatorade cup…..
69 yards later, touchdown Jets, 27-20 win.
Tomorrow, we will return with moment #4.
