Dee Milliner will be in action Sunday for the first time in three weeks

This week the Jets and the Patriots will meet up at Metlife stadium for an AFC East battle in which both teams are going to be hungry for a victory. Lets take a look at the injuries for both squads this week.

New England Patriots Injury Report- LP- Limited Participation in Practice FP- full participation DNP- Did Not Practice

Out- WR Danny Amendola DNP ( concussion, groin) , DT Tommy Kelly DNP ( knee) , RB Leon Washington DNP ( ankle)Analysis- All three of these guys play a role on this Patriots team who has had issues with health all year. Amendola is a matchup nightmare for defenses with his speed and ability to play in the slot. Amendola is a great player who will definitely be missed by QB Tom Brady. Tommy Kelly is a big part of the Pats D-line, who is also without All- Pro DT Vince Wilfork for the season. Former Jets Leon Washington is a dangerous kick returner who also will be out this week.

Doubtful- CB Aqib Talib ( Hip) LPAnalysis- This could be the biggest loss of all for the Pats. Talib is having his best year as a pro, and has arguably been the best CB in football so far this year. It looks like Talib will not be able to suit up on Sunday, which you can bet Jets offense coordinator Marty Mornhinweg will be looking to take advantage of with his pass happy play calling.

Questionable- RB Brandon Bolden LP ( knee) , OL Marcus Canon LP Shoulder , G Dan Connolly LP ( concussion), WR Julian Edelman LP ( thigh) , TE Rob Gronkowski LP ( back, forearm) , TE Michael Hoomanawanui LP ( knee) , WR Matthew Slater LP ( wrist) , DB Tavon Wilson LP ( Hamstring)Analysis- The return of Gronk. Although it is unsure how much he can contribute, Gronkowski will be out there Sunday for the first time this year. Gronk is a brutal matchup for any defense since he is arguably the best TE in football. It will be interesting to see if Canon and Connolly can go for the Pats. If they can’t, those are big losses for the Pats offense.

Probable – CB Kyle Arrington FP ( Groin), CB Devin McCourty ( shoulder) , DL Rob Ninkovich FP ( groin) , T Nate Solder LP ( back)Analysis- Expect all these guys to be ready to go on Sunday. It is interesting though that Solder was limited in practice.

New York Jets Injury Report –

Out- WR Santonio Holmes DNP ( Foot, hamstring) , WR Greg Salas DNP ( knee)Analysis- The Jets will be without both of these receivers this week. Holmes will likely need just one more week to recover from the hamstring injury that he suffered a few weeks back. Greg Salas was just picked up this week from the Eagles practice squad. The Jets knew he had a knee injury and would be out a few weeks, but you have to believe the Jets really like Salas since they picked him up now, and not in a few weeks.

Probable- LB Quinton Coples FP ( ankle) , DB Antonio Cromartie FP ( hip , knee)) , DL Kenrick Ellis FP ( back) , RB Chris Ivory FP ( hamstring) , DB Jaiquawn Jarrett FP ( knee) , WR Jeremy Kerley FP ( back) , CB Dee Milliner FP ( hamstring) , WR David Nelson LP ( hamstring) , RB Bilal Powell FP ( neck) , DB Darrin Walls FP ( shoulder) , CB Kyle Wilson FP ( concussion) .Analysis – Aside from Holmes and Salas, it seems that everyone else will be ready to go on Sunday for Gang Green. Rookie CB Dee Milliner will be back this week, and that is good news for the Jets. Having a healthy secondary is important, especially against Tom Brady.

This game will be played Sunday at 1:00 PM at Metlife Stadium and can be seen on CBS. As always, thanks for reading
