OK, I guess now we know why the moves to the roster were being made today.

The Jets have announced that both Mike Goodson, as expected, and Clyde Gates have been placed on season ending injured reserve. We were waiting the official word on Goodson, as he found out yesterday that he tore his ACL and MCL in his knee.

Clyde Gates, however, was much more of a surprise. Gates was under the impression that he had the chance to play as soon as this upcoming week against New England. Today, he is placed on season ending injured reserve with an injury to his shoulder.

Well, Josh Cribbs will certainly have a role to fill on this team, with the regular kickoff returner out for the rest of the season. Greg Salas have his chance as well, with both Goodson and Gates finished.

Hopefully Cribbs is healthy, as he, talent-wise, is a significant upgrade to Gates. We will see soon enough how good both he and Salas are.
