BREAKING: Antonio Cromartie Suffers Knee Injury, Taken for MRI

Oct 7, 2013; Atlanta, GA, USA; Atlanta Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers (32) runs for a touchdown past New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie (31) during the second half at the Georgia Dome. The Jets defeated the Falcons 30-28. Mandatory Credit: Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Some potentially very bad news coming for the New York Jets. Take a look at this tweet from Jets’ beat reporter Rich Cimini:

We obviously don’t have the results of the MRI as of yet, but if the team is concerned, there must be a reason. Non contact injuries are always worrisome, as they seem to result in bad news all of the time.

Not only is Cromartie the best Jets’ cornerback, they are already thin at the position. Dee Milliner is still hurt, and Kyle Wilson is still, well, Kyle Wilson. The Jets cannot afford an injury at this position.

Let’s just hope and pray that the MRI reveals no significant damage, and Cro misses a short time, if any time at all. Sometimes I have to wonder if the Gods will ever smile on Jets’ fans.
