It’s another football Friday gang, so it’s time for my football picks for week number three. Last week, we went an unfortunate 1-2, as the Redskins played zero defense, allowing the Packers to cover. The Colts also lost to the Dolphins, as unexpected as I found that. Our one saving grace was, ironically, the Jets’ opponent this week, the Bills, knocking off the Panthers. So, the record is 2-3 with one push.

Onward and upward. Remember, these are my personal opinions, not necessarily the opinions of all staff writers, and we are not responsible for any gambling losses based on these picks. That being said, let’s get to it. The picks for this third football Friday in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE!

49ERS -10.5 OVER COLTS

Maybe I am a glutton for punishment, but I am going to start with the Colts once again. I understand that this is a trip out west, to see the Super Bowl runner-up. Colin Kaepernick is still there, and the 49ers have a history of great defense.

However, 10.5 is a huge spread to cover. Even at home, that spread is huge. The 49ers’ “vaunted” defense has allowed nearly 30 points in each of the first two games, and the Colts’ offense is heating up. T.Y. Hilton had a big game last week, and now they are going to add Trent Richardson to the mix. Likely he will be limited as he won’t know the playbook well yet, but I believe he will play.

JETS -2.5 OVER BILLS

Normally I stay away from our Jets game, but I feel pretty good about this one. From MetLife Stadium, it’s the battle of the rookie quarterbacks, as friends Geno Smith and E.J. Manuel go head to head in a key AFC East matchup.

The x-factor in this one is going to be Mario Williams, coming off of his 4.5 sack performance against the Carolina Panthers. If the Jets’ offensive line is not ready for this one, Geno could be running around for his life once again.

However, Rex Ryan’s defenses eat rookie quarterbacks for breakfast, he has a great history of success against them. Expect that to continue on Sunday afternoon. Even if the Jets’ offense sputters, the Jets will take this one late, by a field goal.

SEAHAWKS -20 OVER THE JAGUARS

This choice I am making is purely based on the huge spread. 20 points is a huge number to cover. The Seahawks may be the best team in the league right now, granted. Jacksonville is at or near the bottom of the league, also granted. But that doesn’t mean a 20 point spread will be covered.

It just takes one play to have Seattle not cover, and remember, if the Seahawks win in a 24-7 route, they haven’t covered. It will take a lot to cover a twenty point spread, and the Seahawks won’t do it.

Take the Jaguars +20 over the Seahawks

So there you have it, week three picks:

Colts +10.5 over the 49ersJets -2.5 over the BillsJaguars +20 over the Seahawks

Enjoy the games everyone.
