Another Down: New York Jets' Sheldon Richardson Agrees to Contract

It would appear that the Jets just have one more draft pick to sign.

Reports are out tonight that DT Sheldon Richardson has agreed to terms of his rookie contract. The financials were not available at the time of this post, but as was Geno’s, it will be in the range of the predetermined rookie wage scale.

With that, the Jets have just one more rookie draft pick to sign, and it’s Dee Milliner. The Jets head to Cortland with the roster almost totally signed and in place. The faster Milliner can get signed, the better, as he has a lot to prepare for, taking over in the Jets’ defensive backfield.

One thing is for sure, the news around football, and especially the New York Jets, is flowing like water. What a great time of year, isn’t it? The news is football related, the team is ready to go, and we are all 0-0. It’s time to see our 2013 roster get tweaked and put together.

Who’s ready?

this was BIG news as sheldon has a lot of work to do. we’re hoping to see him play a bunch this season, more than we saw of coples last year. i presume the offset is part of the contract and the reason it took so long. hopefully milliner signs today and gets to work. these guys are important parts and need to be practicing. on an unrelated note, i do not like the site’s new format, not that si cares. it’s too jumbled. the old format was much cleaner and easier to read. you guys are fine but si is no better than the rest of them. the ads are also more annoying and i don’t have any use for what si considers related links. horrible.

I agree with you on Sheldon, much work to be done there. If you aren’t happy with SI, just come directly here… for us :)

Good News!! In my opinion this is a much bigger signing then Geno Smith’s. This guy needs to be on the field and healthy throughout camp. A ton os riding on this kids shoulders! This kid needs to step up and fill the middle along with Ellis, he needs to be a starter or this D might be pretty porous against the run again! From the limited film I’ve watched on this kid, he has the speed and the footwork is impressive from a big guy. He needs to make the jump to the pros though, improve his technique and learn a complex Ryan D! Glad to have him signed!!
