Do the New York Jets Sign a Veteran Offensive Weapon? The Fans Discuss

It’s a little bit late, thanks to my unfortunate sickness, but now that I am back, let’s get to our newest edition of “Tweet Speak”.

You know the concept by now, I present you the topic, and you give me the tweets, and we include them in an article. This topic, presented a week ago, relates to the roster>

I presented you with the question as to whether or not the Jets can, or will, bring in another free agent weapon on the offensive side. Do we think John is keeping it status quo? Or is something coming? Here is what you all had to say:

Well, aside from wanting TO, all thoughts that are understandable. They need another weapon, even if you figure counting in the return of Holmes as an upgrade. The quotes here were taken prior to the signing of Winslow, but it still is a request that is logical. John seems to be going the other way, hoping that guys coming into camp are good enough.

Hopefully he is right.

as far as weapons, the more the merrier as long as they’re not the kind goodson and his buddy were carrying. my main objection to bringing in a veteran is i don’t wanna see us lose a youngster with a ton of potential because we sign some schmuck that we waive after three weeks. if we keep someone for the year and they’re productive that’s a different story. i don’t wanna see something like what happened with cotchery. i do believe, however, that marty will find a way to get something out of whatever he’s got to work with. the rbs should be much better. the line should be improved. i would expect mark will find it quite challenging if he tries to headbutt a lineman’s butt this year. if mark starts i’m sure they won’t let him ruin the season before making a switch. it’d be nice if we had some sure things at wr besides kerley but again, i think even if we don’t make any changes marty will find some way to make this offense work in a way to resemble a real nfl offense. the days of the 31st ranking offense are over. and i really hope that guy was kidding about owens, i mean espn doesn’t even talk about him anymore, do they? i think even toupee meyers has forgotten about terrible owens.

Why bother? Sanchez will just butt fumble that second rate garbage pile of a team right back into obscurity where it belongs.

You mean like the Pats before Spygate?

Please do not confuse me with being a Pats fan. I am a Miami guy, and some nice trash talking is what every football team needs. I mean like the Pats before they got a game tuck ruled in their favor. Without that the Raiders go to the Super Bowl, and the NE dynasty is nothing.

Just sign LLoyd, put a real weapon on the outside. I just have a gut feeling that Hill will never get it. I think he only had about 50 catches in his college career. He’s kind of the equivalent of signing a QB who played one full year in college and expecting him to do just as good in the NFL.

CHAD JOHNSON/OCHOCINO! (Great person to follow on Twitter actually but that was a joke)

If the Jets don’t add a veteran WR to the mix then I think we will be in the same position as last year. I’m not sure about Jordan White and I know Clyde Gates has been hurt, but the only sure thing is a slot receiver Jeremy Kerley. I think Winslow was a good addition for the passing game but we need to add a WR in my opinion. Idk why they don’t just give Braylon a tryout considering he WANTS to be a Jet and Jets fans WANT him.
