New York Jets Profile, WR Titus Ryan

For today’s profile, we look at one of our newest Jets on the offensive side of the ball. This young player is actually in his second year, but the balance of his career has been spent on scout teams, so much that he hasn’t recorded more than one full year. That’s right, despite entering the league in 2007, Ryan has recorded one year of service.  Spotlight here is on Titus Ryan.

MEASURABLES

Titus Ryan stands at 6’0″ and weighs in at 188 pounds.  He was an undrafted free agent in 2007, but has bounced around quite a bit, as we mentioned earlier.  I wasn’t able to locate much on Ryan in terms of statistics.  I was, however, able to locate the stats for his two years up in Canada, so I bring them to you right now:

Name
Yearsort
Team No. Yards Avg Long TD
RYAN, T 2009 WPG 8 285 35.6 65 3
RYAN, T 2009 CGY 7 111 15.9 36 1
Career Total 15 396 26.4 65 4

I was unable to locate any video to share, so will be just giving some brief thoughts on what we know about Ryan. Based on that high average per catch during his Canadian years, he clearly is fast. Yes, the CFL is a different game, but a guy can still make a difference with that ability.

He is a little small, though. We always wonder what small school players are going to be able to do against press coverage, but add that to a guy only 6’0′, 188 pounds, and you could see a guy that gets shoved around.

The Jets are very barren at the wide receiver position, as we all know. Titus Ryan will be afforded every opportunity to make the team, and we wish him the best of luck.
