The Anonymous Source is Back: Sights on New York Jets’ QB Mark Sanchez

Just when you thought this was finished, here we go again.

Apparently, Mike Pettine was not the only anonymous source wandering around Florham Park, NJ. Yesterday, there was a report on NFL.com that an un-named source, this time a player, stating the team likes Mark Sanchez, but feels it’s time for someone else to get a chance.

According to the newest “deep throat”, 80-90% of the roster feels this way.  Of course, nobody on the roster is willing to put their name to this type of feeling.

This is why our team gets labeled as a “circus”, ladies and gentlemen.  Sources within the organization feel they can go to the press and say whatever they like.  It’s takes a real “man” to make a comment and not identify yourself.

Idzik has nipped this from the front office, so hopefully he can stop it from coming for the players as well.  Assuming it’s true, because we know that the mainstream media doesn’t always hold to that “truth” thing.

But it has to stop.  This will kill the team if it continues.  Enough of this “anonymous” source garbage.  Speak with your name on it, or keep quiet.  Period.

the head coach and the GM probably put that out there which is ok with me—the Problem I have is so called Jets fans keep on keeping on with this “circus ” label —I live upstate near Rochester and Im glad Im not a fan of the Bills or Browns who haven’t made the playoffs in years and change HC and Gms like rolls of toilet paper—get a critical mind of your own and turn off the over sensationalized ESPN /NFL network-reading PFT dont be a sheep following the flock off the ledge—cant see what their motives are? which is filling a 24 hour news cycle with 5 minutes of news a day—The Jets will have a good team this year and they will win 10 games–why? because they have better players and the team killer will be gone—sanchez

the head coach and the gm are floating rumours to beat and national writers as ‘unnamed sources’? you can’t be serious. i agree with everything that follows that, but the first line is a bit preposterous.

      • Joe Willie

your right- the 1st part of my comment is pretty trivial about a trivial subject—but its all fun—the rest of my comments were from the heart—thanks for your reply fellow jet pal

I think this site has a chance for some good guys to follow without the petty sarcasm of the Jetnation site –where (most ) are contemptuous immature jerks —I had the mob after me 2 years ago when I started a topic

“Mark Sanchez= Kyle Boller” the truth didn’t hit them yet– the mob attacked me and eventually the mods banned for defending my opinion -that tells you a lot about their open forum

    • TheJetPress

Joe, will never ban you guys for having opinions. Don’t expect agreement all the time, but as long as you guys keep your thoughts clean I have no problem with anything anyone says. Glad to see you guys debating on here.

this site is wonderful. the writers post several stories a day and we don’t have the idiots i see on tjb or toj. i gave up on jn because they seemed to have one story like every five days. not enough to keep my interest. lotsa news on tjb, but the comments are yahoo level for the most part. awesome analysis on toj and most of the comments are pretty decent, but there are some idiots over there. that said, i’ve seen a handful of trolls here the past week or so that i hadn’t seen before. there are a lot more good comments now than we had a couple months ago. keep commenting guys.

Who respects an anonymous sorces anyways, I respect it about as much as I respect dick ciminis incoherent muttering. If you don’t have the balls to put your name to it then you don’t have the balls to say it so STFU. The pats should be our worst enemy but the Jets are thier own worst enemy…..

    • TheJetPress

Very true Dustin. If your QB and WR are having troubles like the team, tan the fans are going to do what they have to in the office

the few who are smart enough to think for themselves are fine. the idiots who spend their time paying attention to the national media, unfortunately, dominate our world. it is difficult to get into a sport discussion without encountering people who listen to fathead mike, or benedict arnold mike and mike etc. entire discussions center around unteaching people thoughts that were based on bad logic, for instance, after the draft half the free world thought the sheldon richardson pick was pointless, like rex and idzik were swingin at a piñata. they have a plan and i can’t wait to see our new defense in action. however, the majority live for anonymous sources.
