BREAKING: Darrelle Revis Trade Official: To Tampa Bay for 2 Draft Picks

Now the trade is a done deal. Darrelle Revis is property of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ian Rappaport is reporting that Darrelle has signed his contract with the Bucs, for 6 years, $96 million, with none of it guaranteed.  The contract was agreed upon after the trade between the Jets and Bucs was finalized.  In exchange for Darrelle, the Jets received the Bucs’ first round pick on Thursday night (#13 overall), and a conditional pick in 2014, either a 3rd or a fourth round pick.  The round is contingent upon Revis being on the Tampa roster on the third day of the 2014 league year. It’s an interesting set of events, as many of us were expecting the Jets to come back with 3 picks in the trade.  The more I think about it, the more we have to temper that with the fact that we don’t know what type of player Revis is going to be following the injury.  We really didn’t have a great deal of leverage here.  Being able to get a top 15 pick, along with a second pick, for a guy coming off of ACL surgery is not a bad haul. I don’t believe that John Idzik is done either.  Let’s see what the corresponding moves are.

So, what do you guys think?  Vote on the trade below:

I voted A because even though I thought they would get more the fact the jets got a
top 15 first round draft pick for a player coming off major sugery is amazing in
it self!! I believe they will trade down anyway and get more picks!! Wether they
trade both #1 picks remains to be seen? The dafts next week so we will find out
    soon enough?

Fair enough sir. The complete jury on this trade is certainly still out. This week will be exciting, that’s for sure.
