So the Jets did address the tight end position, at least a little bit.

Just a housekeeping note at the position, RFA Jeff Cumberland agreed to sign his offer sheet to remain with the New York Jets, rather than entertain other team’s offers. He will play tight end for the Jets in 2013 with $1.3 million. The Jets are expected to address the position in greater detail come draft time.

Just a couple of other bits of news regarding pre-draft visits with college players.

Per our friend Conor T. Orr from the Star Ledger, the Jets had Utah DT Star Lotulelei for a visit last week. In another interesting bit of news, Conor is reporting that the Jets are going to visit with UVA quarterback Geno Smith.

There is a lot of debate as to how high, or low, Geno will go, although he is widely considered a lock for the top half of the first round. Are the Jets just doing their due diligence here? Or are they seriously considering drafting Geno? I guess we will find out soon.
