Well, it looks like the replacement for Dustin Keller is not coming in the form of a former Washington Redskins tight end.

An update tonight, Fred Davis, who was going to come in to visit with the Jets tomorrow, has apparently cancelled his visit with the team. He was scheduled to come in tomorrow after visiting with the Buffalo Bills today.

There is a lot of speculation going around tonight as to why this decision was made by Davis. Our Twitter time line has included speculation that Davis received an increased offer from the Redskins ans is going back to them. Other speculation is that he got in contact with John Idzik and the Jets, and was told that he wasn’t going to be offered the money that he had hoped for.

Whatever the reason might be, the bottom line is the Jets will not be bringing Fred Davis in for a visit. Will they bring in another free agent? Or will they stick to the draft for a tight end? Maybe they will stick with Jeff Cumberland and company. We will find out.
