We are just over four weeks away from the 2013 NFL draft. As usual, the mock drafts, the predictions, ..etc., are coming out fast and furious. As we move along, we are going to cover the draft at all angles, and that includes evaluating some of the many mock drafts that are out there to be read.
Today we are going to look at one of those mock drafts, courtesy of Pat Kirwan. Kirwan, for those who aren’t familiar with him, is a National NFL Insider for CBSSports.com, and he posted his updated version of his mock draft was released on Monday.
So, who does he have the Jets choosing at number 9? He has the Jets taking…………..
DION JORDAN, DE, OREGON
The Jets can’t rush the passer and haven’t addressed the issue in free agency. The only real pass rushers left in free agency are all older players like Abraham and Freeney.
We have talked about Dion Jordan for some time now, and I still feel the same way. Dion Jordan has all the potential in the world to be an absolute beast. Here are his college stats to refresh your memories:
This man can clearly get to the pass rusher. 12.5 sacks over two seasons in colllege is nothing to be ashamed of. However, where he really won me over during the Scouting Combine last month at Indianapolis.
Players that work hard at the Combine, no matter what the obstacle are, earn my believe that they are going to be good NFL players. Take a look at how Dion performed at the NFL combine, and remember that he was injured! We want players that are tough, and Dion Jordan clearly fits that bill. Not only can he play through pain, he can play well.

As you can see, the Jets will have several good choices under this scenario. Mingo and Jarvis Jones are gone, but in addition to Jordan, Bjoern Werner, Ziggie Ansah,
