Maybe John Idzik is more of a master of getting what he wants than any of us could have ever imagined.

After several reports bounced around that the Jets were not going to be able to get Santonio Holmes to restructure his contract, we hear exactly the opposite. Twitter is lighting up throughout Jets Nation with news this afternoon that Santonio Holmes has agreed to restructure his deal.

At the time of this post, there was no word on the financial details of the restructure.

To his credit, our good buddy Nick Spano had the detail on the Holmes story when nobody else had the specifics. Everyone else was reporting that Holmes wouldn’t restructure, when in fact, the issue was a pay cut. Holmes wouldn’t take a pay cut, but clearly, a restructure was OK. Congratulations to Nicholas for keeping it real for everybody.

Now the speculation begins. Why the 11th hour moves with Holmes and Po’hua? What’s going on? Are there a couple of signings that might be imminent? I guess we will find out soon enough.
