Super Bowl 47: New York Jets Connections

It’s about one hour from game time, Jet Pressers. Hopefully all of you are with friends and family, getting settled in to what should be a just excellent Super Bowl. May you all have a great time, be safe, and enjoy the game.

For anyone who has their mobile devices or computer with them, here is a little bit of light reading before the game starts, as we give you some of the connections that our New York Jets have to tonight’s game, courtesy of ESPN New York:

  • Braylon Edwards played for the 49ers in 2011.
  • New OC Marty Mornhinweg was the offensive coordinator and QB coach for the 49ers from 1997-2000.
  • Santonio Holmes and Nick Mangold were teammates at OSU with Niners Donte Whitner, Ted Ginn Jr and Alex Boone.
  • David Harris and Mario Manningham were teammates at Michigan.
  • Bart Scott was a Baltimore Raven from 2002-2008.
  • James Ihedigbo played for the Jets from 2007-2010.
  • Rex Ryan and Dennis Thurman both were on the Ravens coaching staff.
  • Greg McElroy and Courtney Up
