No General Manager Announcement Coming from the Jets Today

Well, so much for Jason La Canfora’s report.

This afternoon, Brian Costello from the New York Post is reporting that in fact, the Jets will not be announcing a general manager hiring today. That is in contrast to the LaCanfora report that the Jets would announce today. So, we continue to wait, on word actually from the Jets, as opposed to the media.

Throughout all of this, you have to give the Jets a lot of credit. For the first time in anyone’s memory, the Jets are keeping things quiet from the media. Nobody has a clear line as to what is happening as far as this search is concerned, henceforth, the inconsistent reporting. Kudos to Jed Hughes for the influence that he has brought to this process. If only we could keep him around to influence the organization going forward.

Notice if you will, that we haven’t heard a word from Manish Mehta of the Daily News lately. Maybe his source really did shuffle off to Buffalo. Oh, well.
