More news on the Jets rumor front, this time with the offensive coordinator search.
Earlier today, we heard that Scott Cohen, Jets assistant general manager, was out of the running for the general manager position with the team. A little while ago, Kimberly Martin from New York Newsday reported that Cam Cameron will not be the next offensive coordinator of the New York Jets.
This also is not disappointing news. Cam Cameron would not have been an awful choice, as he has led decent offenses. But, as our friends at www.ganggreennation.com put it best, the Jets need a home run selection here. They need someone that is dynamic, creative, not afraid to push the football down the field, and a total reverse from what the Jets had in Tony Sparano. Cameron would have been a step in the right direction, but not perfect.
Other candidates noted to be in the running are former Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, Stanford offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, and former Raiders coach Hue Jackson.
