Rapid Thoughts on Packers Win over the Vikings

Green Bay has punched its ticket to San Francisco Saturday night with the win over the Vikings tonight.

Not a lot to say about this one. Joe Webb was in an impossible position, and it showed. He found out just hours before the game that Christian Ponder was out, and that he was starting in his place. Webb hadn’t thrown a pass all season, and it showed. That was the difference. Webb played with that “deer in the headlights” feel, all game long, and the Vikings couldn’t recover. Yes, Webb did throw a TD late to Michael Jenkins, but that did little except to make the score appear closer than it actually was. After the first drive, when the Vikings went up 3-0, they were never really in it after that.

Tough way to end a great comeback season for Adrian Peterson, which comes to an end with the loss. But, a heck of a year for him, and he will be back full strength next year.
