Jets Must Show Pride Today

The Jets don’t have a lot to play for this afternoon. As we said earlier, they are guaranteed their first losing season since 2007. We all know, as I am sure they do, that they are playing out the string. What DO they have to play for? Pride.

This is probably going to be the last game in a Jets uniform for several Jets players, the guy in the picture being one of them. Bart Scott is likely on his way out, along with his partner in linebacking, Calvin Pace. LaRon Landry may not be back, despite the big season, as well as long-time Jets Brandon Moore, and Bryan Thomas. Workhorse Mike DeVito, and fan favorite Braylon Edwards are not guaranteed to be back either. The 2013 Jets roster is going to look a lot different than the current one.

Go out today on a high note. The team gave up 11 sacks last week. Give Mark Sanchez at least a semblance of a chance to make some throws. Don’t let him spend the entire afternoon on his back. Offensive line, let’s have one more decent performance to end the 2012 season feeling OK. Defense, let’s take the old guard out on a good note. If Bart and company are coming to the end of their time with the Jets, let’s give them one more Rex Ryan performance. Hit somebody in the mouth, and play Jets football, for the pride of playing Jets football.

Show some pride today, please.
