Franchise Tag Numbers Are Out: Who Do We Tag?

As we look forward to the off-season, we start to think about what the roster is going to look like? Who will stay? Who will be gone? Obviously, a lot of this is going to depend upon who is making the personnel decisions. But, as fans we love to speculate, so let’s do it.

Ian Rappaport reported today that the 2013 franchise tag numbers have been released. Here they are (in millions):

CB: $10.668
DE: $10.984
DT: $8.306
K/P: $2.926
LB: $9.455
OL: $9.660
QB: $14.642
RB: $8.079
S: $6.798
TE: $5.962
WR: $10.357

Per the website, here is your list of free agents coming up this off-season, restricted and unrestricted:

Yeremiah Bell Jeff Cumberland
Mike DeVito Austin Howard
Nick Folk Joshua Mauga
Shonn Greene Tanner Purdum
Dustin Keller
Laron Landry
Brandon Moore
Chaz Schilens
Matt Slauson
Bryan Thomas

Now, we all know that the Jets are not exactly thriving with cap space. According to the aforementioned website, the Jets estimate to have a little over $5 million avaialable. With that, we all know that no matter who is running the cap come this offseaon, there will be moves made to free up money under the cap. So, with that being said, who do the Jets franchise?

Is it LaRon Landry? He has been great this season, culminating in a Pro Bowl appearance. He has said that he won’t take a hometown discount, although he would like to stay. Do the Jets risk setting him off by using the franchise tag on him? Maybe Brandon Moore for continuity on the offensive line? I would have considered Dustin Keller, before he spent most of the season off the field.

Based on these numbers, who do you guys think? Comment below, or hit us up on Twitter.
