No real surprise here, but the Jets make it official just a little while ago.
The Jets have announced that Greg McElroy will be the starting quarterback on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, relegating Mark Sanchez to the bench.
Like I said, no real suprise here, as anyone that saw Rex Ryan leave the field last night could tell that Mark had taken his last snap, at least for the immediate future. Many fans have felt this was a long time in coming, and that McElroy should have been starting since he led the Jets to a win against the Arizona Cardinals.
It’s time for the Jets to see what they really have in Greg McElroy, as they know what they have in Mark. The next two games could go a long way in determining where the Jets go at the quarterback position in the near future. As of this post, we don’t know who the number two quarterback is going to be, Tim Tebow or Mark Sanchez.
