2013 NFL Mock Draft: The New York Jets Select…

The 3rd Fandsided NFL Mock Draft is out and for the 3rd straight week, the guys over at Fansided continue to believe that a pass rushing DE/3-4 OLB is the right selection for the Jets and considering who is on the board at this time, I believe Oregon’s DE Dion Jordan is the best selection for this Jets team and would undoubtedly fit in perfectly to Jets HC Rex Ryan’s defense.

Oregon’s DE Dion Jordan has all the attributes and intangibles needed to be an effective OLB at the next level.

The Jets struggles at pass rush has been quite evident over Rex’s tenure here and it’s way past time for the Jets to fix this issue.  Unlike the other pass rushers in the draft (Jones, Mingo and Moore), I believe Jordan is more of a raw prospect that would require more time and coaching to essentially and ultimately get the best out of him but I DO believe he has the intangibles to be a very good OLB in the NFL and that includes his uncanny ability to drop into pass coverage during his tenure at Oregon.  While at Oregon, Jordan was a solid pass rusher but an excellent pass defending LB, something the Jets can certainly use with having to defend some of the league’s best TE’s in Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski in New England.

Like I stated last week; The selection is necessary as ignoring the pass rush is no longer an option for the Jets.  I like the pick.

For those unfamiliar with Dion Jordan, here’s a few highlights of his time at Oregon…..Enjoy
