Report: Jets to Sign Braylon Edwards if He Clears Waivers

The Braylon-Sanchez reunion is CLOSE, but not here yet.

A reunion in Florham Park, NJ is being planned, nut is not official yet.

According to Brian Costello of the NY Post, the Jets will sign WR Braylon Edwards, if he clears waivers this afternoon. The Jets are in dire need of a weapon on the outside with all of the injuries they have sustained. As we all know, Braylon Edwards has been here before, and played well with Mark Sanchez. We will be back with more if the news becomes official.

It is interesting how the Jets are going about this. From Costello’s report, we can infer that the Jets are not going to put in a waiver claim, instead, waiting for him to clear, and then signing him. Are the Jets so sure that nobody is going to sign Braylon? Are they that enthusiastic about signing him, if they are not going to put in a waiver claim to be sure?

This story isn’t over yet, because Braylon still has to make his way through the system. Any team could still make a claim for him, but assuming they do not, Braylon likely will be a New York Jet once again.
