Jets Win: One Game Out of Final Wild Card Spot

Believe it or not, a miraculous run is not out of the question.

The Jets won, 17-10 over the Jaguars. But, we need to thank Norv Tuner and his San Diego Chargers as they helped us out big this afternoon. By virtue of their 34-24 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Jets are one game behind in the race for the final Wild Card position. The Steelers are now 7-6, with the Jets right on their heels at 6-7. It still will take a lot, don’t get me wrong, as the Jets do not hold the tiebreaker, based on their loss to the Steelers early in the season.

But, the Jets do have a favorable final three games, finishing up with the Titans on Monday night, followed by the Chargers and the Bills. None of these are going to be easy, but they are winnable. If they can win, and get some help, a lot of help, the season is not over yet.

You have to give the Jets credit for one thing. You can say a lot about this team, but they don’t give up. For all of the controversy off the field, the team has stayed focused on the field, and battled to the very end. Rex Ryan, for all of his faults about being loyal, which are valid, has to get credit for keeping the team focused. Whether you love Rex or hate him, he has to get credit for getting as much as he could out of this roster.
