I guess you can go home again.

Head coach Rex Ryan has met with the Jets this morning and has announced that Mark Sanchez will be the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. The news comes after we learned yesterday that the Jets were split, with Ryan and owner Woody Johnson siding with using McElroy, while GM Mike Tannenbaum and OC Tony Sparano preferring the return to Sanchez. The Sanchez supporters won.

We will come back with more reaction later on today. It will be interesting to hear the spin that Rex puts on this at his press conference at 11:45 this morning. The going theory is that this decision is financially driven, as Mark is due plenty of guaranteed money in 2013. I am sure that Rex Ryan will have an interesting script planned to explain why this decision has been made.

Is Mark auditioning for his next team, or trying to re-assume his role going forward. I guess we will find out soon enough.
